In spring and summer 2015, Chancellor Henry Yang established six endowed memorial funds to honor the victims of the May 23, 2014 tragedy in Isla Vista. The funds are named for each of the six students killed in this tragedy and the terms of each fund were thoroughly vetted and approved by the respective families. Each fund is as unique as the student whose name it bears and strives to build a bridge between the students lost and current students studying at UCSB. Funding for these endowments came entirely from donor gifts.
